It may be worse than you imagine. A small history lesson and very scanty review showed the following similar activity. I am not claiming that Sen Obama is a NAZI sympathizer, but his campaign is employing similar tactics used by the Hitler youth organization to indoctrinate followers.
"During overnight camping trips, the new boys relaxed around the camp fire and learned Nazi slogans while joining in sing-a-longs of Hitler Youth and Nazi anthems. Political instruction took place during weekly Heimabends (home evenings) in the houses of Hitler Youth. The agenda was usually set via special educational letters sent to local Hitler Youth leaders giving detailed instructions on how to conduct the meetings. "
Time for a little perspective... its just black youth who are excited about Obama and so they put together a little military routine/chant thingy. What is so wrong with trying to get teens involved in a campaign and trying to better themselves because of some sense of loyalty they feel to a presidential candidate? Don't we all want youth more involved in the political process?
Lets be honest here, the video is a little weird and silly but it is no more than that. If they kids were talking about McPalin we would not be having this discussion.
I don't know, Nick. Youth that are excited about a presidential candidate normally put a sticker on their piece o' junk car and maybe make some phone calls at a campaign office. If they are really gung ho they go out and canvas a neighborhood.
A drill team in military dress just... I don't know, it creeps me out. Especially when a candidate has been more about vague eutopian rhetoric than actual details. And the details he does give are mainly socialist/big government in nature.
When is the last time you saw groups of young people being organized to sing songs of praise and support to a political leader?
I personally would rather see them channel their "excitment" (as Nick put it) into the Lord Jesus Christ and furthering His kingdom not any particular political candidates (on either side). That would be something that I would stand up and cheer for.
