Simply Jesus - Follow Me

WAY AWESOME STUFF THIS WEEKEND!!! Not only did we get to spend some great time with my brother and his wife, but we got to take them to SSCC for some great worship and some great teaching.

Pastor Mark updated us that last week, not only did we have a great time tailgating, but 67 people were baptized and 52 people put their faith in Jesus! Awesome stuff. I'm thinking our fun filled tailgating party was nothing compared to the good time being had in heaven. PRAISE GOD!!

Simply Jesus

That' s the name of the new series of series at SSCC. It kicked off with 67 baptisms on Saturday night. I got some pictures and maybe a little video. I hope the church posts some of the video that they got. AWESOME STUFF. Before second service Sunday morning 16 people had already placed their faith in Jesus for the first time and I'm guessing there were at least a dozen more at the 10:30. I can't wait to hear the numbers for the whole weekend. It was GREAT! They do baptisms every quarter at SSCC and when the weather isn't too hot they do it outside with a massive tailgating party and celebration. So much fun! They had four inflatable pools set up and people gathered around each one. It was really a site to behold. There was so much energy and excitement it was amazing!

I can't wait for the rest of the series.

Among the insanity

Among all of the insanity of election season, when poll numbers and watching Hillary's startling slide (as she loses some of her composer in the debate over the weekend) all threaten to block anything good from getting into my giant noggin, there is always the reminder of good things happening in churches around the country.

For us yesterday it was at SSCC. Awesome teaching from the book of Micah. That's right, Micah. Specifically Micah 6:8 talking about doing justice, showing mercy and walking humbly with our God. Awesome stuff. Very inspiring.

Checking up with Elevation and Pastor Furtick, they started their Made series. Everyone dressed in suits for the 'mafia series'. Sounds like "the boss" was on the move in their midst. 130 people gave their lives to Jesus. That's a good hit. :)

The latest one

Last week we went with a couple of our friends to Superstition Springs Community Church (SSCC). The lesson was excellent! The worship was awesome! It is the first church that we have been to with a worship band, where you could REALLY hear the people around you singing out with all their hearts. That was wonderful!
Right now Brandi and I are in a discussion, along with the kids, of which one we would like to go back to and see again. I'm thinking maybe we need to go to the orientation of both just to get the behind the scenes look at what is going on. Maybe that would be a good opportunity for God to show us which church family we would be more effective at serving.
In either case we are going to have to visit for their Christmas festivities. According to the announcement they are trucking in enough snow to build hills... and be able to sled. Way cool.
