I've heard quite a bit of coverage the last couple of days on three things. Number one is the Olympics, which I probably won't watch much of because of time. Number two is the Russian invasion of one of our friends and allies, and the least consequential thing is the fact that John Edwards had an affair and possibly fathered a child with a woman while his wife is suffering from most probably fatal cancer.
I'm not linking to any of the articles about Edwards. I think what was a pathetic political career is now over and he needs to realize what his actions have done, accept responsibility and he himself needs to just shut up about the whole thing. Go into a hole and just focus on helping his poor wife. It is for her sake that I am not going to mention it any more and personally I am going to turn the radio or T.V. station if I see any coverage on it. I encourage everyone to do the same. There is no reason to drag this whole thing out and the only person who really suffers is Elizabeth Edwards. While you are at it, say a prayer for her that she can be strong through this whole ordeal and that God will get her through an unbelievably difficult physical and now emotional situation.

Big News Last Night and Early This Morning
Guiliani and Edwards are out.
This has HUGE implications. It pretty much shores up the nomination for McCain, since at least 70% of Rudy's support will go toward McCain, particularly after his endorsement that will probably come this morning. I would also anticipate some type of position for Rudy. My thoughts here look more and more plausible. Romney needs to act fast or he's done for and it may already be too late.
The EVEN more interesting development was Edwards dropping out this morning. Big surprise since he had indicated he was in for the long haul. I definitely didn't anticipate this until after Super Tuesday. This definitely smells like a deal between him and the Obama camp, who will GREATLY benefit from Edwards pulling out. The rumor mill is talking Attorney General John Edwards... wow that was a frightening thought. Anyway, I would say a vast majority, if not ALL of Edwards support will go to Obama because it is part of the "anti-Hillary" vote. I won't say that this will have Obama winning the nomination. I would bet that Hill-Bill still has a dagger or two they haven't thrown yet, although it will be a surprise when it does come. They've already played the feminist card, the race card, the drug card, the slum lord card, the "present" voting record card... Geesh, what could be left?
This race is definitely going to be one for the history books.

10%!!!??
If you listened to all of the democratic debates, first of all let me extend my sympathies and a bottle of TUMS. But during that time you have no doubt heard former Senator Edwards go on about the 35 million people in this country who go hungry.
First of all there are only 301 million people living in the US. That would mean that 11.6% of the country is going hungry. Look around you. Are one out of every 10 people you know looking malnurished? Okay, out of 10 people you know, how many would you say are even THIN? Easily 6/10 people I know are FAT! and I'm one of them!
The numbers are COMPLETELY being skewed and intentionally distorted.
Read this article to get an idea of where the numbers came from and what they really mean.
After all if 35 million Americans were starving, why doesn't JE just invite them over for dinner, from the looks of it he could feed most of them. Turn his new mansion into a 28000 square foot soup kitchen. :)
