I guess it's good to be king

Rush Limbaugh has quite a list of accomplishments to his credit:

- Completely changed and invigorated the entire AM dial and redefined talk radio (for starters)
- Hosts the most listened to radio show in the history of broadcasting
- Has conducted interviews on a variety of issues, obviously mainly with politicians, including multiple interviews with the president and vice president

He is on the air for three hours a day and according to the Drudge Report, currently makes about $38 MILLION a year, that's right a YEAR. If you don't count the days he takes off, which I figure come out to about four weeks a year, that comes out to about $57,000 an hour. Not too bad. Of course there is prep time in there as well, maybe another three hours a day (probably not, because he has "staff"), so that would bring his total down to $26,400 an hour.

But that was his old contract. :)

According to Drudge he just signed his new contract. It's good through 2016, that's 8 years at... $400 million. Drudge also mentioned that this included a NINE FIGURE signing bonus. NOT BAD.

That would put his hourly at... over $34,700 an hour. Nice.

According to Drudge, "Earnings now pace him ahead of the annual salaries for network news anchors: Katie Couric, Brian Williams, Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer — combined!"

I guess it's good to be king of the EIB Network.

There goes Air America

I know, you probably thought it was already gone, but it still had a few stations around the country. However, after RR went on a Clinton tirade on film and then refused to apologize, she is quitting the station or "exercising her option".

Too bad for Air America, she is the only thing that has kept them on the air this long after their previous celebrity hosts all flopped. She was the only real "radio" person that they had. They will disappear all together now as congress renews talks of the "fairness doctrine" to try and silence Limbaugh, Hannity, Ingraham, Prager, Hewitt, Medved, Borts, Levin, Miller... the list goes on.

Classic. I think you could call this another casualty of Rush Limbaugh's Operation Chaos. :)

Dem Crossover Votes for McCain

There is some pretty interesting stuff happening in this primary. It looks like the Dems are pretty bitter and split about this whole battle. Kind of funny considering there is really zero difference between the candidates on anything OTHER than personality.

Rush Limbaugh and other talk show hosts have been doing what they can to add fuel to the fire. Limbaugh is working what he calls "Operation Chaos" to get Rep voters to cross over and vote for Hillary in order to prolong the whole nomination process. The good news is that it appears to be working.

In the meantime, some Dems are actually threatening to sue Limbaugh for "Operation Chaos", while they are also trying to get Reps to vote for their candidate. Are they going to sue themselves next? The whole thing is a mess, which is of course what Limbaugh wanted in the first place.

I know a lot of people don't like the man, but quite frankly, he's a genius when it comes to this stuff.

At this point it's pretty entertaining.
