Well, despite the push by the White House to tamp down on the “disinformation” that comes from people actually reading the current healthcare legislation, the word is getting out and getting out big. At townhall events around the country (which you can find a list of here) representatives are hearing from their constituents, both for and against these sweeping reforms.
And people are mad.
I don’t advocate violence at any of these meetings. I really don’t think that this is the most effective of way of being heard. Debate passionately, but act gently. I can’t say that the President has helped in this regard considering that he has been advocating for the ‘in your face’ approach since before the election.

Just last night we were talking about the irony of Obama calling for voicing your opinion however now that it's seemingly against his and the DNC agenda it's some crazy mob of Nazi's running around. Just shows once again how out of touch Washington has become.
I'm obviously frustrated with what is happening, but at the same time I'm getting excited for 2010.
You can try and brush off protestors at a rally, but it's pretty hard to brush off a landslide defeat at the polls.
You might want to look at the website of the US Chamber of Commerce. It allows us to subscribe to and send Congressmen letters urging rejection of the Government Healthcare initiative. The form letter seems to be crystal clear regarding objections and is quite respectful while helping to voice an opinion that I really support.
Thanks for the recommend, Bill. Gotta love business people that make sense.
