Inappropriate

Am I a fan of the President's policies? Obviously not.

Do I believe that he has lied repeatedly during some of his speeches on healthcare? Yes. At the very least his comments have been very misleading half truthes.

In this case about illegal immigrants, there is nothing in the bill that requires verification of citizenship to receive benefits. In the past and present, this has been an open door to illegal aliens. So, the President is being very deceiving.

That being said, do I think it is appropriate to yell out "You LIE!" or "Liar!" during a presidential address to Congress? No.

Of course, I don't think the President's comments were appropriate either, but I will comment more on that later.

Here's the video

Actions like that do not help the cause. Right or wrong, Obama is still the president and even though a lot of his own actions have belittled the office and caused a significant lose of dignity, it still was not right for the senator to call out during his speech that he lies.

He was a congressman, but yes, it was inappropriate. Immediately afterward he issued an apology and said his emotions got the better of him. He even attempted to call the President to personally apologize.

Of course his behaviour is not unlike the Democrats booing President Bush during his State of the Union speech in 2005.

But, still, inappropriate. Respect the office of the President and the Congress where he is speaking.

Sorry-Congressman (representative) it sounds like this man is a little confrontational to start with. You want to bet that the democrats are going to use this for their benefit-over and over!
